For most WordPress users, it should come as no surprise that the latest version, 2.8, with the codename Baker, has just been released.
This blog has just been updated using the internal updater core introduced earlier (in 2.7 I believe), and the process went unsurprisingly easily.
Version 2.8 introduces a long range of features and bugfixes, in fact 180 of them, which can be read about here: http://codex.WordPress.org/Version_2.8
A quick video highlighting the new features is also available, which gives you a quick rundown of the new features and the updates to the interface. See it below:
I will be going through the plugins to ensure they are functioning properly under 2.8, and update accordingly.

Hi, WordPress
I want to tell that I am having a hard time using 2.8 version. I can not edit my font, or my widgets for some reason. Can you please help me out. Thank you.
Hi Naim
Thank you for visiting, however, this blog is not a hang out for the core WordPress developers, but maybe I can help. Initially I suspect that some of your files were not correctly updated. Did you use the internal updater function, or did you manually upgrade?
I use the updater function sometimes, but if I want to be certain everything is properly done, I use FTP to remove all contents of wp-admin and wp-includes, and then upload the files manually to those folders. By removing all files first, you ensure that ALL files are properly updated. Please remember to not touch the wp-content folder, and if you are uncertain how to do this, do some research first. It’ an easy process once you know it, but you can also mess up a lot of things if you are not certain.
