Development on SEO Booster PRO v.2 has been going quite quickly the last couple of days, and I want to share some of the highlights with you.
Tony gave out some highlights recently, but he was working with an older version of the plugin, and the last couple of days has brought a lot of changes I want to tell you about.
Those of you who do not know, SEO Booster PRO is a WordPress Plugin that helps you track, analyze and help you boost internally your rankings on Google for the keywords/phrases you get visitors from.
Hundreds of licenses sold, the effectiveness is not doubted, and now there is more…
SEO Booster PRO v.2 introduces a lot of features and a super-effective new feature which you are gonna love!
First of all, the design has been updated and is now a lot more sleek and fast to use.
Revamped Dashboard
You will notice specific information on when a new CRON job is set to run (depending on your settings), you will see a quick stats for your search engine traffic, when the first visitor from a search engine was registered, and how many keywords/phrases that are now registered.
If you have turned on backlink verification and have gathered some back links, you will see some more specific information.
Settings

Structured Settings Pages
The settings page have been better structured, and you can now dive into the settings for each area.
Some of you might notice the tab “Proxy settings”. It is not yet clear if this feature will be released in 2.0 or a later version.
Status Email
New in version 2.0 is to have the plugin send you a status e-mail automatically. You can set it to send daily or weekly.
The email contains the changes for the last day and/or week, such as new back links, new search phrases, all the information you would like to have at a glance and skim easily, but not really want to log in to all your blogs to find and see.
AJAX Interface for Search Phrases
Version 2.0 introduces a nice AJAX interface to navigate the keywords registered. It is easy and fast to use the search feature, navigate via the pagination and to sort by columns dynamically and fast.
Wicked Extra Feature: With a single click on a search phrase, you turn the visibility on and off. Any phrases that are hidden will not show up in the Sidebar Widget or any of the functions you can insert into your template.
Any words/sentences you enter into the “Ignore”-list in the settings page will still be ignored, and above feature is for “fine-grain” tweaking.
Un-indexed Back Links
A MAJOR new feature in SEO Booster PRO v.2 is the verification of back links to your WordPress blog.
In terms of SEO, it is important that you get the full value of all your back links.
If you have 200 back links to your blog, and only 123 of them are indexed, imagine what getting those other 77 back links indexed would mean to your SERP rankings!
Back Links Searching
There are 3 methods in SEO Booster PRO 2. for finding out where you have links on other blogs pointing to you.
- Passive - SBP 2.0 checks every visitor and finds out if the visitor is from a search engine, or it might be a backlink to you.
- User – If you have a list of links pointing to your site already, you can simply copy-paste and add it to the list of backlinks.
- SERP – SBP 2.0 can check the search engines for back links to you. The feature is optional, and if turned on, a CRON job will run every hour, searching for back links to your blog.
NOTE: Search Engine Research are performed with “link:homepage.com” or “linkdomain:homepage.com” as well as a random character such as ‘A’ or ‘G’.
This is done to make sure the script picks up as many of the unique back links to you as possible and to bypass the “1.000 results-limit” normally applied by Search Engines.
Unindexed Backlinks
Once there are some links registered, SBP v 2 starts researching and verifying for you.
An automatic CRON job visits each of these back links and checks to see if there is a backlink to your blog. It stores a lot of nifty information about the link, if its nofollow, an image or a text link, and if a text link, what anchor text is used.
After a while, SBP 2 will (hopefully not) but most likely start noticing back links from URLs that are not indexed in Google or Yahoo.
This is a list of URLs that we need to make sure are indexed properly in the Search Engines. If we can do that, the extra value from their homepages, will strengthen our blog.
You can get the list of URLS in two ways. Either by copy-pasting from the text field on “Back Links” tab, or you can use the dynamically generated RSS feed.
The RSS Feed
The RSS Feed is dynamically generated, and whenever any of the pages are suddenly indexed, they will disappear from the list of un-indexed back links.
So what to use it for?
Well, there are several methods in which you can use the RSS feed, and I might include some of them in SEO Booster PRO v 2., but the final feature set is not done yet, but I will mention a couple:
- Create a link to the RSS Feed. The Search Robots will pick up the link, and the links inside the RSS feed, and hence visit and index the back linking page.
- RSS Widget. You can use a dynamic RSS Widget to display a dynamic list either on your own blog, or what about a totally different blog? Just use the RSS URL, and use it anywhere.
- Central Autoblog Back link. You could set up a blog somewhere to post automatically when checking an RSS feed with a plugin such as WP-O-Matic.
There are several ways. You can even take the list of URLs, print it out, go to Google Headquarters and jump up and down furiously outside their compound demanding they index those URLS. The possibilities are endless.
What about those Anchor Texts?
Every time a backlink is verified, we store some details about the link. Such as which text they use to link to your page, which page they link to, if its nofollowed or not.
By seeing the specific Anchor Text they use, you can change your SEM strategies and focus on other keywords or work harder on the low-performers.
The Log
Although the log might not seem overtly important to some of you, it can help a lot of times optimizing performance, tracking down bugs or just be nice to see what is actually going on behind the scenes.
The Log has had a facelift as well, and now has different color codes for different events and level of severity. Normal information/debug information is in grey and happy events (such as an increase in ranking or a new verified back link) are colored green.
Errors and problems that require attention are marked in red.
The logic and processes in the background are optimized and as speedy yet clever as possible. SEO Booster PRO helps you by implementing dynamic SEO, and SEO Booster PRO v.2 takes it a step further
Now, the question you will be asking, and several people have asked before, when will it be released? It is too early to tell yet, unfortunately, there are still a lot of things being implemented, tested, fine-tuned and a new major release of WordPress is due shortly (version 3.0).
I will await WordPress 3.0 (perhaps even a few bug-fix versions after that) before I start the final testing of the product.
But, the good news is that the plugin is stable and quite functional. How stable and how functional do you ask? Well, it is actually running right now, right here on CleverWP.com It’s that stable…

Come on! Let’s have it soon, Lars! Can’t wait
Rosenstand, it is gonna be worth the wait
I can’t wait for the update. I have been using your plugin on a ”hijack” site as I like to call it. Had a grievance with a company and after failed communications put together a package of top WP plugins to get a quick result in pageviews and traffic. Your plugin was (is) the driving force behind new traffic. Bring it on. Is there any way you can configure the status email to be sent more than once daily? Just picked that up from the screenshots. LOL. That will be my first request – email after every cronjob has run
Ill check back soon
Great news but you wil release only with WP 3? Can i test ?
Thanks
Not quite sure yet. I await to test/work on WP 3.0 before I make up my mind. It would obviously be best to support older versions of WP as well, but I want to see the advantages and disadvantages first.
Hi Guys!
It looks awesome!
Do you have a deadline for releasing this monster seo plugin ?
rokoroko
Hi RokoRoko
“As soon as possible”
There are a lot of things to take care of, once you put a plugin like this “into the wild”, so many things can go wrong, and I want to have a really polished and solid plugin release.
please notify me when the plugin is available.
Hi Ryan
Definitely, keep checking up here on myWordPress.com, I’ll post about the release
If you want to be sure, sign up to my email newsletter or my RSS feed.
I am having an ” O my god” moment. This is exactly what I have been looking for, but didn’t really believe it existed.
So, if I buy SEO Booster PRO now, I will have the v 2.0 updates for free ?
Hi Marie
I’m glad to hear your excitement!
Yes you are correct, but I have stopped mentioning that fact
What about us who bought the earlier version of your plugin? Will there be an upgrade pricing?
Hi Nikos
First of all, thank you for being an early adopter, we like that
Secondly, I did not write that above, I should have done that from the beginning.
In fact, we like our customers so much, customers have LIFE-TIME FREE UPGRADES. (Life of product that is, might stop supporting it in 2037, who knows?)
So, you will not have to pay a dime to upgrade.
You might have to do a little work though in getting the license to work however.
We have upgraded the customer-system after we released version 1 of the plugin, but we have all the old records of purchases, and we are gonna be making it as easy as possible for all users to upgrade when we release version 2.
Thank you for your interest, and I hope above answer is what you were looking for
Thanks for the reply.
Am I right to believe that we’ll be informed by e-mail in time on how to download the update?
Hi Nikos
We’re crossing our fingers for a flawless release when the time comes.
Apart from mailing all our customers I will make sure to publish the news here on my blog, to Twitter, to my RSS newsletter subscribers, my newsletter subscribers, Tony will be taking care of the marketing and my friends will blog about it as well and I’ll most likely have a big release party in my house.
I’ll do my very best to let you know
Looking Forward to this pluggin release. I guess I will wait and not bother with the current version.
Please let me know when it’s ready
If I buy the current version (I’m on the Lite version at the moment) do I get a free upgrade to v3.0
Or should I wait till v3 before buying?
Hi Mike, thanks for dropping by and asking
Yes, you get free lifetime upgrades. (Lifetime of product, of course…)
We believe that our early customers, the first to purchase and try our product should be rewarded. We do that by giving lifetime free upgrades to all products.
You can choose to wait to buy till version 2 is out, that would be nice for us, since the new price will be higher, so… Please wait
Check out some of the other plugins, Topic Storm has been getting a lot more attention lately, might be something for you as well? (yeah, lifetime free upgrades on this plugin also)…
OK – I have just bought. Lets see how it goes,
The preview looks awesome. Can’t wait to test it…
This new version looks very promising. It’s nice to see that the lifetime upgrades will be free. I have one suggestion though as i am using the last version of that plugin. I can see that the auto tag feature is useful but there should be an option to limit the number of tags by posts. I am scared that google can penalize websites that have hundreds of tags attached to one post. It creates a lot of duplicate pages also. So I think the option is interesting but it should just create tags for the most popular tags only and in limited number.
Cheers!
Hi seoaustralia
This feature has been requested by other users, and have already been implemented. You can also set a minimum and maximum character length of the tags, as well as a maximum number of tags per post.
HOw can i do that? in what version this pro-booster option included?
Where is the download link on this page, if there is one?
Thanks
Scott
NIce ,I also want to know how it work.
When is it coming out?
I love SEO Booster Pro and use it on all my blogs. When is the version 2 coming out. All seems to have gone very quiet recently.
The preview looks awesome. Can’t wait to test it… Thanks
Hi there, I am about to purchase your plugin as it looks just the ticket for what I need. However, have you thought of adding a way to do a printout type report that we can present a client with monthly?
Clients love to see good results on paper.
