PPinger is a FREE WordPress Plugin which automatically lets your users ping for you. This plugin runs fully automatically, and is set to be as non intrusive as possible for your normal users.
By pinging RSS aggregators often, you increase the probability of getting all your pages well indexed, and by using your visitors to ping for you, you do not use your own IP constantly and look like you are spamming.

I am using PPinger 2.3 for my WordPress 3.0 and i want to upgrade my WordPress to 3.0.1 . Can i still use PPinger 2.3 for the new version of WordPress?
Hi Mary
As far as I have observed, PPinger 2.3 runs just fine on WordPress 3.0.1 as well.
I see the benefit in this sweet little plugin for new blogs and especially blogs with updated content on a frequent basis ie: autoblogs.
Tell me, does it ping each time a visitor simply lands on my page or only if the make a comment?
nice work & thanks for making it free:)

Hi Jay
You are quite right, its only relevant for fairly new blogs.
The plugin waits to make a request every 2 hours (I think) and then uses a random visitor, creating an iframe for the pings, meaning it will use the visitors IP for the ping.
You’re welcome
I have a new blog and I’d like to give this a try. If I may ask, does this bring any bad effect to my site?
Thanks!
Hi Galwin
I have experienced no repercussions for using this plugin. It COULD have a negative effect if you pinged constantly (spamming), but the plugin limits itself, and after your blog has become well-indexed and is visited often by the search robots, you can just turn off the plugin.
